During a cellar visit in Bordeaux, it became clear that many professionals were hesitant to open bottles. Once the cork is removed—whether from a red or white wine—the wine is inevitably exposed to oxidation. While oxidation initially enhances aromas and flavors, it quickly becomes detrimental over time.
To overcome this challenge, Wikeeps developed an intelligent cork inspired by traditional winemaking practices. By combining this cork with proven oenological methods—specifically inerting with a neutral, natural gas—the system preserves the wine’s integrity, allowing it to fully express its character while extending its life after opening.

Wikeeps’ patented technology for serving and preserving still wines and Champagne uses cartridges filled with oenological gas—a natural, neutral, and inert solution specifically designed for wine preservation.
For still wines, Wikeeps has developed a unique oenological formula composed of Argon (79%) and CO₂ (21%). This gas mixture preserves wine freshness for several weeks. It is particularly well suited to today’s increasingly “natural” wines, which naturally contain CO₂, while also promoting controlled oxygenation during service. The capsules are fully compatible with Coravin-type wine-by-the-glass systems.
For sparkling wines, Wikeeps uses a specific blend of CO₂ (80%) and Nitrogen (N₂). This combination offers a dual benefit: it stabilizes existing effervescence while preventing oxidation, ensuring that Champagne and other sparkling wines retain their freshness and structure after opening.
